This variety is an adaptable and showy form of native grass with a wide distribution. Its honey gold inflorescence has yellow pollen hanging down on the eyelash, and flowers begin in July and hold on into winter. The thin, upright wire-like stems hold thin grey green foliage on low clumps. The plant prefers a well-drained, to dry soil in full sun and is hardy in Zones 4-9. Mature height 30 inches.
